TOWN COUNCIL FUNDS CHANGES TO “DANGEROUS” ROAD JUNCTION

Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council is poised to fund major changes to a road junction branded locally as “dangerous”.

The Council plans to fund traffic calming measures at the junction of East View Road and Wylde Green Road by Bishop Walsh School.  The proposed scheme has been approved by Birmingham City Council and will be formally advertised before the end of the year.

Chairman of the Planning and Highways Committee Councillor David Allan commented: “We are pleased to be able to allocate £30,000 for the work at this junction.  This work has been part of our plans for some time, and we are pleased that Birmingham City Council has now given the go ahead for the final stages of the formal consultation to proceed.

We believe it will make a substantial difference to people who use that junction. We understand once the necessary advertisements have been placed that subject to final approval by Birmingham City Council the work will take place early in 2018.
