Saturday support act announced as tickets go on general sale

Residents of Sutton Coldfield are encouraged to book their tickets for Concerts in the Park on Saturday 30 June as they go on general release this week.

Following the success of last summer, the CBSO will again headline the event. Concert Organisers have this week announced Down for the Count as the support act.

Down for the Count are one of the UK’s most in-demand vintage bands, performing a delectable mix of vintage swing, soul and Motown music for audiences up and down the country. The Vintage Swing Orchestra will get the Concert off in style in the afternoon and the Motown Collective will get everyone on their feet in the early evening with a selection of medleys and soul favourites.

Town Clerk Olive O’Sullivan said: “With over two months before the Concerts, we are very pleased with the ticket sales to residents of Sutton Coldfield so far. Over half the tickets are already sold for the Saturday 30 June and 4,500 tickets are allocated for Sunday 1 July. As they go on general release we don’t want residents to miss out on what we think will be a real highlight of the summer.

“We are excited to announce Down with the Count as our support act, who will get the Concerts started with style and energy.”

Tickets are available for the Concert on Saturday 30 June via Sutton Coldfield Town Hall, at a cost of £20 for adults and £10 for children and those on benefits (plus box office fee).

Concerts in the Park is supported by Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust, Punter Southall, Sutton Coldfield College, and Royal Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce.

Further programme announcements will be made in the coming weeks. Keep up to date at or via the Town Council Facebook page.
