Thank you to everyone who took the time to send us their views in the recent “Your Views: Our Priorities” survey. In all we received 711 responses, both hard copy and electronically, from across the town.
Your top 3 priorities were Town Centre regeneration, making the town cleaner and greener and traffic and transport issues, with up to 500 people ranking them highly. Health and wellbeing and recreation followed them closely with around 400 people thinking each were a high priority.
The results were presented to the Strategy and Resources Committee. Anyone who asked to be added to the e-newsletter will have had their contact details added to the list.
We are already working on many of the issues you told us were important. We are setting up a Town Centre Regeneration Partnership, which will bring together representatives from the local public, private and third sectors to promote the development of a new vision for the town centre. Partners will work together in creating the right conditions for investment to help create a vibrant town centre where people want to live, work, shop and spend their leisure time. We are also working hard to influence decisions around traffic and transport, with recent responses to the Birmingham City Council Sprint consultation, and the plans for the HS2 transport hub in the town.
We are currently recruiting new team members who will work on projects to improve the health and wellbeing of residents, and environmental projects to improve the public spaces in our Royal Town. If you would like to be kept up to date, you can read the news section of our website, and you can also sign up to receive our monthly e-newsletter.
