2016 saw the first ever Sutton Coldfield Town Council Community Awards. The initial idea was proposed by Cllr John Perks to recognise and celebrate the crucial work and services that our town’s businesses, organisations and individuals provide that would have previously gone unnoticed.
The awards are an opportunity to reward the everyday efforts and achievements of extraordinary people in our town.
“I have been constantly amazed and inspired by the number of people from across our town who carry out selfless acts every day, often without recognition or thanks. These awards are a small way to say thank you to just some of them for continuing to make the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield a great place to live and work.” Councillor Charlotte Hodivala
The Award categories are:
- Good Citizen Four Oaks Ward
- Good Citizen New Hall Ward
- Good Citizen Trinity Ward
- Good Citizen Vesey Ward
- Young Person of the Year
- Teacher of the Year
- Local Business of the Year
- Local Leader of the Year
- Commercial Business of the Year
- Mayor’s Award
The awards evenings are always a joyous, positive, inspiring evening guaranteed to make you feel both humble and proud of the town in which you live.
Next awards will be Wednesday 14th March 2018. Location to be confirmed.
Nominations will open in January 2018.
