The Mayor of Royal Sutton Coldfield, Councillor Derrick Griffin, has announced the winner of his Christmas card design competition. Naomi Hawker of the Deanery C of E Primary School was named as the successful designer in a special assembly which the Mayor attended today. 20 Sep: Royal Town receives Silver Gilt award as Bloom results announced

Royal Sutton Coldfield has received a Silver Gilt award for its 2018 entry into the Heart of England in Bloom. The announcement was made at an event in Burton upon Trent on 20th September. This was the first year the Royal Town has entered Heart of England In Bloom. Judges came to Sutton Coldfield in July and spent a morning viewing the town’s heritage treasures, horticultural gems and floral features

13 Jun: Deanery School gets set for Bloom judges

As the town gets ready for the first Sutton Coldfield in Bloom entry, those on the route are busy preparing to impress the judges.  Deanery Church of England Primary School features on the route. The school has two key initiatives to show the judges when they visit in July.  The first is a new pathway around the perimeter of the school grounds which is being built to encourage outdoor exercise.

19 Mar: Town Schools rise to Mayor’s Eco Challenge

Four Sutton Coldfield schools have been recognised by the Mayor for their enthusiasm and commitment to the environment as they showcase their outstanding projects. Banners Gate Primary, Langley Special School, Mere Green Primary and Moor Hall Primary were all presented with £500. These schools were picked by the Mayor as having the most exciting projects and planned works. Last September, all primary schools in the town were invited to apply
