All meetings of the Council are open to the public. At the start of each meeting there is a public question time where people can make comment or ask questions about an item on the agenda.

The Full Council is responsible for managing the financial commitments of the Council and for overseeing and approving appointments, strategy and policy.
AMENITIES, LEISURE & COMMUNITY SERVICES
The Amenities, Leisure and Community Services Committee is concerned with the upkeep and development of our recreational facilities and ensuring the Town Council fulfil their Health & Safety/legislative responsibilities for all residents.
Health and Wellbeing Sub-Committee
Established in November 2018.
The Sub-Committee reports to the Amenities, Leisure and Community Services Committee and is responsible for taking forward the Town Council’s Health and Well Being work programme.
STRATEGY & RESOURCES
(previously Finance and General Purposes)
All financial considerations, including budgetary control, fixed assets, leases and service level considerations, fall under the umbrella of the Strategy and Resources Committee.
Human Resources Sub-Committee
Established in June 2018.
The Sub-Committee reports to the Strategy and Resources Committee and is responsible for the Council’s recruitment and the discharge of the Council’s duties as an employer.
PLANNING & HIGHWAYS
The Highways and Planning Committee act as the statutory consultee on all planning applications. They are also responsible for licensing matters and can influence changes to local planning policies as well as comment to other authorities on transport, pedestrian and regeneration issues.
ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
The Annual Town Meeting is a meeting of the Royal town of Sutton Coldfield electors that takes place between 1 March and 1 June. This is not a Town Council meeting, although chaired by the Mayor and reports given on Town Council activities. The meeting offers an opportunity for residents to discuss issues of interest and help shape the future of the Royal Town.
